In an international contest organised by Efma and Accenture for the most innovative banking projects, mBank was once again among the best banks in the world. This time, members of a jury and voting Efma members decided to recognise the marketing banking platform which was ranked the best in the "Digital Marketing" category. Additionally, a strategic alliance between bank and Telco Company, Orange Polska - Orange Finanse - was granted the second place in the category „Best new product or service”. mBank itself received also a third prize in „Global Innovator” category in recognition of all projects submitted to this year competition.
The competition is to award the most interesting and innovative projects of financial institutions worldwide, which are addressed to retail clients. This year, 500 innovations of more than 211 financial institutions from 59 countries have been proposed as candidates to the competition. The projects are submitted directly by financial institutions, then they are subject to evaluation by the jury. The final score in each out of 10 categories is broken down evenly into the assessment of the jury composed of experts in the retail banking area and the votes of Efma members cast via the competition online platform. This year, mBank has received an award in the "Digital Marketing" category hailing the marketing online platform for offering products at the right time and in the right place and in such a way that this information becomes important to the client and allows the bank to develop a long-term relationship with the client.Additionally mBank was ranked 2nd in the „Best new product or service” category for his strategic alliance project – Orange Finanse, which is a joint venture mobile-only bank created to Orange Polska customers. Moreover, in appreciation of all submitted projects, mBank stood on the 3rd place on the podium in the overall category “Global Innovator”. Besides above mentioned, jury highly appreciated the concept of a new format of bank’s outlets, called “Lightbranch”, as well as mobile mTransfer – a method of quick mobile payment to all mBank’s customers.
The distinction from a global organisation such as Efma, which brings together members of financial institutions all over the world is a confirmation that we are heading in a right direction which sets new paths for the entire sector. I am particularly happy with the fact that this year we have been recognised for the project being the emanation of our banking DNA, i.e. the platform allowing to develop a long-term relationship with the client, adjust to his habits and needs, says Jacek Iljin, the managing director for retail banking sales and banking processes at mBank. In this annual competition organised by Efma for third time, mBank has always been among the winners. Last year as the only financial institution it received three awards in the categories: "The most promising idea" (for a mobile loan in 30 seconds), "Everyday banking" (mOkazje) and "The Most Disruptive Innovation" (mOkazje). In 2013, mBank received two awards. It was hailed as "The Most Disruptive Innovation" and the best online and mobile bank, winning in the "Digital and Mobile Excellence" category.
