    The supervisory board accepted Cezary Kocik as a candidate for President of the Management Board of mBank S.A.

    Today (26 April 2024) the remuneration and nomination committee recommended to the supervisory board Cezary Kocik as a candidate for president of the management board of mBank S.A. The supervisory board accepted the committee’s recommendation.

    The appointment of Cezary Kocik as president of the management board of mBank S.A. by the supervisory board is subject to a positive outcome of the suitability assessment and consent of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). The new president of the management board will take over after the current president of the management board, Cezary Stypułkowski, steps down.
     
     
    The above decision was made as a result of the process of succession and selection of a candidate for the position of president of the management board conducted by the remuneration and nomination committee in cooperation with the entire supervisory board.

    Cezary Kocik has served as vice-president of the management board, head of Retail Banking since 2012. Since 2004, with the support of mBank’s Retail Banking team he has been creating a comprehensive range of products and services for individuals, businesses and small enterprises in three markets: in Poland, Czechia and Slovakia. Additionally, he supervises the Private Banking and Wealth Management client segment, the Brokerage Bureau and mBank’s investment fund company (TFI). Before joining mBank, he gained experience in corporate and investment banking and in the risk area. Among others, he managed one of the largest branches of Bank Pekao S.A. Cezary Kocik graduated from the University of Łódź with a degree in Banking and Finance. He completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School in 2015 and the Strategic Management in Banking course at INSEAD in March 2018. He holds a securities broker licence.
     
     

    Professor Agnieszka Słomka-Gołębiowska: The process of selecting a candidate for the position of the CEO of mBank was conducted in line with the highest corporate governance standards. We selected a candidate who meets the requirements regarding the competences expected from the CEO of mBank and who, as a leader, appreciates and fosters mBank’s unique culture. On behalf of the supervisory board, I would like to congratulate Czarek. I am looking forward to our cooperation in the future. I wish him success in leading mBank Group on the sustainable development path. Until the new president takes over, Cezary Stypułkowski will remain in his position, allowing us to complete the process, for which I would like to thank him sincerely.

    Cezary Kocik: It will be a great honour and responsibility for me if I get to take the helm at mBank from Cezary. I would like to thank the supervisory board for the trust they have placed in me. I will be proud to manage such an amazing team if I am given the opportunity. I am sure that we can achieve great things together!
